Brief

A stable, level platform at a constant height above a changeable water level from which to conduct the tests with small hand-held apparatus. 

Solution

We built a full-form sealed float with twin railings which was held in position with non-contaminating galvanised steel mini-piles.  

Challenges

As the platform had to be at a constant height above the changeable water level, it had to be designed as a floating platform with a fully sealed flotation system so it would actually sit on top of the sludge.  The materials used to hold the platform in place also had to be built out on a non-contaminating material to prevent contamination of the sludge.
