Brief

To provide a flush fitting removable hardwood cover over the swimming pool which could be in place with the pool filled.  

Solution

We constructed aluminium jetty-style frames  with legs fabricated to stand in the pool and hardwood plank panels made to fit to ensure a flush fit. 

Challenges

As the large greenhouse was to be used an an entertainment room, we had to consider that dancing might take place on this cover.  Therefore careful structural calculations had to be completed for so called 'dynamic human activity' to ensure that it was structurally sound and safe to withstand this.  We also had to be very careful not to damage the mosaic tile interior of the pool.
